I think this is very relative to age and life expectations. I’m in my mid-30’s, as are most of my closest friends. My friends who are single and childless by choice are seemingly the happiest. My friends who are single but desperately want to be married with children seem to be the least satisfied. I won’t use the word “unhappy” because they still have great jobs and social lives, but I think the social pressure and “ticking clock” take a toll.
